Ethereum Foundation

Common Prefix has been selected to receive a grant from the Ethereum Foundation under the Academic Grants Round 2024 to analyze the principal–agent problem within liquid staking protocols on Ethereum. This work further extends Common Prefix's previous research on The Principal–Agent Problem in Liquid Staking and focuses on popular liquid staking protocols, such as Lido and Rocketpool, which handle a significant portion of Ethereum's staked assets. This foundational analysis aims to contribute to the Ethereum and broader DeFi community's understanding of these complex mechanisms and lay down the foundations for future work.
